NBA to digitize decades of game footage

The AP reports that the NBA is in the process of a digital archival project that will eventually make nearly 60 years of films available to fans who want to watch, and more interestingly remix, the footage.

Steve Hellmuth, the NBA's senior VP of operations and technology for its broadcast and licensing arm, on the offering, which will take six years to complete: "If we've got it, there's no reason why we shouldn't make it available to fans."
